# NetApp FlexPod enables global storage unity for ICON

## Industry

 Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology

## The Challenge

As ICON developed and grew on a global scale, its previous local storage solutions couldn’t keep pace. IT teams experienced outages and there was no efficient way to share data across different locations

- Accelerate clinical trials
- Introduce new revenue model for clinical data storage

## The Solution

Implement the NetApp FlexPod architecture across ICON’s U.S. and Ireland data centers to gain a purpose-build, high-capacity platform designed for specialized workloads characterized by flexibility, scalability, and lower capital and operational costs.

- FlexPod
- NetApp FAS and E-Series
- NetApp StorageGRID
- NetApp FabricPool

## Benefits

- Bringing therapies to market faster and more cost effectively
- More time and funding back into continuous innovation for ICON
- Innovation is at the heart of everything that ICON, Island Networks, and NetApp do together
- Improving and saving lives through data
